Fritzy Jacobs: A Unique Boutique

The first time I heard the name “Fritzy Jacobs” I was hooked. With a store name that creative, I just knew the merchandise had to be special. I was not disappointed. Fritzy Jacobs is undeniably one of the area’s most unique boutiques—a Downtown Worthington mainstay for the past 10 years.

This lifestyle boutique features an eclectic selection of home products, including lamps, bedding and rugs; a wide array of kids’ items, from clothing and shoes to wall décor and stuffed animals; and a variety of garden products, pottery and candles. Think one-of-a-kind whimsical items that you can’t—and won’t—find anywhere else. That’s Fritzy Jacobs.

Fritzy Jacobs is the brainchild of two sisters (Jen Lewis and Kristen Reeve) and their long-time friend (Tricia Steele) who decided to start a business together. The three friends shared “a flare for interiors and an eye for the unique.” They combined their complementary styles and backgrounds in design and marketing to form Fritzy Jacobs. Ten years later, Tricia Steele and Jen Lewis still own and operate the business and are just as passionate about it as the day they opened the doors back in 2002.

“We are located on a corner spot right in the heart of Olde Worthington,” says Tricia. “We love the people, the architecture and the community. We were welcomed when we came in, and we continue to have a great outpouring of support.”

Now for those of you who are curious, like I was, about the origin of the name, it’s time to unravel the mystery. Fritzy Jacobs was the childhood friend of Jen and Kristen’s grandmother. Kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?
