Spooky and Spectacular
Candle-Lit Halloween Nights at The Worthington Inn will include ghost stories and some spooky but spectacular dinner specials. Bone-chillingly good menu? Check. Spooky stories? Check. You'll find both of these at The Worthington Inn's Candle-Lit Halloween Nights on October 29 and 30. Now in their second year—and back by popular demand—the Candle-Lit Halloween Nights are possible thanks to a partnership between The Worthington Inn and the Worthington Historical Society.
This year three different guest speakers from the Worthington Historical Society will present their stories about the ghosts of Old Worthington and The Worthington Inn at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. on both evenings. Guests will be seated between 5:00 and 8:30 p.m. to ensure that everyone has a chance to hear one of the speakers at some point during their meal. Depending on their arrival time, guests will be seated in either the main dining room or the formal dining room. Reservations are required: 614/885-2600.
Make no mistake about the authenticity of this event. The rooms will be decorated, and all dinner guests will be dining by candlelight. Employees at The Worthington Inn are busy planning the decorations, and Chef Thomas Smith is creating the menu. Speaking of the menu, the Inn officially rolled out its autumn menu on October 8, and it features some fall favorites like seasonal vegetables and the wildly popular roasted butternut squash soup. During the Candle-Lit Halloween Nights, guests can choose from the regular menu and a host of spooky specials.
Like always, The Worthington Inn is committed to using local foods, and this fall guests can expect produce from Green Edge Gardens (organic farm) in Amesville, as well as eggs—which are popular for Sunday brunch—from King Family Farms in Albany. And, of course, the dessert menu will continue to feature a pie of the day from Worthington's very own Sassafras Bakery.
