Worthington Wedding District Hosts First Annual Wedding Walk

PrintPlanning a wedding can be a daunting and overwhelming experience. Fortunately, the wedding vendors, merchants and creative professionals in Olde Worthington are now making things much easier for newly engaged couples. Not only do they offer a wealth of experience and a variety of wedding services in one convenient part of town, but they are also hosting the first-annual Worthington Wedding Walk on June 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. The neighborhood-wide event will feature more than 30 vendors and shops in an effort to cater to these couples, their friends and family members as they plan for the big day. "The Wedding Walk has grown into something really wonderful," said Beth Dekker of Igloo Letterpress. "A lot of people got on board early on, and that is making it really special."

Wedding Walk attendance is free, but pre-registration is encouraged for a chance to win door prizes. Simply go to worthingtonweddingdistrict.com for registration and details. Registered couples who visit all participating merchants and fill their District Passport will be eligible to win a grand prize, which includes:

  • $500 from Worthington Jewelers for wedding bands
  • Pearl earrings (valued at $495) from Denig Jewelers for the bride and bridesmaids
  • Engagement photography session from Little Tree Studios (worth $450)
  • $200 toward a bridal bouquet from Flowers on High
  • $100 Magic Cruises gift card
  • Set of thank-you notes from Igloo Letterpress
  • Wax, Wicks & Wine package from House Wine and The Candle Lab to develop custom-scented party favors
  • Traditional Afternoon Tea for Two from The Worthington Inn

The individual vendors have many exciting things planned for the day. At House Wine, artist and baker Jan Kish of Jan Kish La Petite Fleur will be discussing cakes with the brides. She'll also saber Champagne bottles every hour, and pour some bubbly for everyone.

Over at Magic Cruises, couples can pick up free informational packets about honeymoons and destination weddings. Representatives will be on hand from Princess Cruise Line and Cunard Cruise Line as well as vacation representatives from Sandals Resorts and other all-inclusive resorts. Discounts are available for couples who book their trip by June 30.

The Pursuit mobile menswear truck will be set up in the parking lot of Igloo Letterpress. This clothing store on wheels is the perfect way to schedule fittings for on-the-go groomsmen.

If you attend the Worthington Wedding Walk, expect a full afternoon of activities—all taking place in the Olde Worthington Wedding District.
