Worthington Historical Society Sponsors 68th Annual Antiques Show
Believed by many to be the longest-running antiques show in Central Ohio, the Worthington Historical Society Antiques Show will take place at the Holiday Inn at 7007 North High Street on January 5 and 6, 2013. Approximately 35 vendors will exhibit a wide variety of items, including furniture, folk and fine art, fine china, glassware, stoneware, antique dolls, quilts, linens, writing instruments, jewelry, silver and more. No replications or new items are permitted in the show.
"The show is suited to the advanced collector and also to those individuals who are just starting to acquire antiques," said Kate LaLonde, office manager at the Worthington Historical Society. "There will be a lot of furniture, and some of it is quite big, such as headboards and armoires. Many of the booths feature a lot of jewelry."
The show, which boasts high-quality antiques by antique dealers from around the Midwest, is also the biggest fundraiser for the Worthington Historical Society. Funds raised are used for the upkeep of its properties.
The show's location has a long history as well. It started at St. John's Episcopal Church, moved to Green Meadows Inn and later to the General Beightler Armory Headquarters. When the Guard needed more training space, the show moved to the Hilton Hotel, which is now the Worthington Holiday Inn.
Mark your calendars for this annual post-holiday event! In addition to uncovering many great treasures, you will also be supporting your local historical society.
