Worthington Farmers Market: More Diverse Than Ever

Now that the Worthington Farmers Market is year-round, its popularity continues to soar. Conveniently located near I-270, which provides easy access for people from all around Central Ohio, the market is growing in size and diversity. The Worthington Farmers Market is much more than a fun place to pick up a quart of strawberries; it is one of the area's premier shopping venues. In fact, a growing number of people now view it as a one-stop shop where they can check quite a few items off their grocery list.

With the May 4th opening of the summer market only a few weeks away, we will be highlighting some of the changes and updates to the summer market in our April blog posts. In particular, we'll be focusing on the added diversity of this year's market, including everything from fish to mushrooms to flour, along with some recipes from market vendors. The market will also be addressing the dietary needs of certain factions of the population with such alternatives as gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free products.

Today the Worthington Market is fuller and more diverse than ever, with 80 outdoor vendors from May through October and more than 50 indoor vendors from November through April. This winter for the first time the market was held at the Shops at Worthington Place, but when May finally arrives, everything moves outdoors to the High Street corridor.

Mark your calendars for the opening of the summer market on May 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. You will be surprised to find more diversity, new food items, and a host of new vendors. Best of all, you won't need to make several stops around town to purchase your weekly food items. One visit to the Worthington Farmers Market eliminates all that running around.
