Two Worthington Boutiques Cater to Bridal and Special Occasion Shoppers
Perhaps to no one’s surprise, June is still the most popular month of the year to get married, followed by August, September and October. That leaves the winter months for planning, primarily from the beginning of the year through April. No one is more aware of this informal yet rhythmic wedding calendar than Lindsay Fork. She is the owner of LUXEredux Bridal and La Jeune Mariee Maids & Social Occasions in Worthington, as well as La Jeune Mariee on East Main Street in Columbus and Big Rock Bridal Atelier in the Short North. And right now, it's her busiest time of the year. La Jeune Mariee Maids & Social Occasions
Fork purchased the original Worthington bridal boutique in 2008, where it remained until two years ago when she relocated to Columbus. Now the Worthington location is home to La Jeune Mariee Maids & Social Occasions, and it houses some of the bridal industry’s most sought-after bridesmaid apparel. The shop features premier designer attire for bridesmaids, flower girls and mothers--all with plenty of personalized service.
Fork wants people to know that they can come to the shop for special occasion dresses and accessories. “The style of dresses has gone more to a social occasion,” she said. “You are truly able to wear the dress again, especially as different fabrics become more popular. So people can come in here and find something they can wear out on a Friday night or for a special occasion.”
But before you walk in on a Monday, hoping to find a dress for the following weekend, be advised that most items in the store are special order. That means you must first try on a sample, pick your color from a chart or swatch, and then place your order. It’s a very customized process, complete with measurements.
The shop also carries a host of accessories, including everything from a matching clutch to popular bangle bracelets from Bourbon & Boweties.
LUXEredux Bridal
Just upstairs from La Jeune Mariee Maids & Social Occasions is LUXEredux Bridal, a high-end bridal consignment boutique. Fork started the shop in 2011 after what is now the sister store, La Jeune Mariee Bridal Boutique, started to outgrow its space due to an overwhelming amount of lovely dresses. She needed a store that featured ongoing sample sales, and LUXEredux Bridal was born out of that concept. Her goal was to offer gorgeous designer bridal gowns at an amazing price, but with the same La Jeune Mariee experience.
Today Fork says she has a special place in her heart for Worthington, since this is where her business started. "As my needs have grown, I needed to expand to downtown (Columbus), but this is where I grew my business, and I don't ever see leaving this store at all," she said. "Here in Worthington, we still have a stake in the bridal world with our LUXEredux store."
