Old Worthington comes alive around the holidays, with lights wrapped around the trees, special sales at local boutiques, seasonal food and drink, and favorite events like the Holiday Open House and tree lighting on the green.

But one of the biggest markers of the season are the window decorations in the windows of the historic district businesses. During the November Worthington Wednesdays, the 2019 window décor was officially unveiled, with 24 businesses across the district all decked out for the season.

Roughly half of the windows have been decorated by the businesses themselves, while the rest are designed by a volunteer creative team led by Faith Huddleston and Leigh Foust. Huddleston and Foust led the volunteers – all local residents – to collaborate with the businesses to create eye-catching designs.

The window designs match the business’ personalities, whether it’s elegant paper in the window of Igloo Letterpress, nods to beer and fish at Old Bag of Nails, or Christmas trees fashioned out of pizza slices at Jet’s. Vinyl stickers for the windows were donated by American Sign Studio in Worthington.

The window designs will be up through the New Year, so make sure you visit all of them while you shop local this season. Stay tuned as the judging committee will select the winners soon!
