Indulge Your Sweet Tooth at Heaven Crepes and Waffles
Worthington is full of hidden gems, and the new Heaven Crepes and Waffles, tucked into the Kroger plaza next to the Worthington Park Library, is a perfect example!
The long, narrow café serves everything to satisfy a sweet tooth: giant filled crepes, waffles with fun toppings, smoothies, tea, coffee, and even ice cream. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and you get a little bit of a show while they prepare your food. It’s a delight watching them pour out the crepe batter, smooth it, roll it together, and drizzle it with sauces. Or assemble your towering waffles, or whip up rich, steaming cups of coffee.
First off: the crepes, which are served as standard folded crepes or rolled “sushi” style. The sushi style are rolled together tightly with fillings, and can almost be sliced into pieces like a sushi roll! The add-ons include everything from white chocolate and fruit to Nutella and Biscoff cookie butter, to marshmallows and brownie pieces.
The waffles are crisped up in the waffle irons and come with similar toppings to the crepes. They can be ordered with the toppings on the side, as a “waffle sandwich,” or as the Lotus waffle with a scoop of ice cream included!
Heaven Crepes also serves a variety of beverages that include boba tea and smoothies. There’s a small selection of coffee, including freshly made Turkish coffee. The rich brew is made in a rectangular contraption with heated sand; a cup is filled with finely ground coffee and spices, then partly buried into the sand to boil it quickly. It’s served in a beautifully decorated wooden board in a ceramic cup.
Heaven Crepes and Waffles is open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
