Father ChristmasAs many people in Worthington are well aware, the Griswold Center is a busy place any time of the year. This is especially true during the holidays when a lineup of special events and activities take center stage on the Center's calendar. This year is certainly no exception, so we're sharing the highlights to ensure that you don't miss a thing! Griswold Holiday Party – December 10 – 1:30 to 3 p.m.

The Griswold Holiday Party is an annual gathering of talent and fellowship. This year that includes a special guest performance by the Kidstuff Superstars (the Worthington Community Center Preschool Class), as well as performances from the Griswold's very own talent pool—the Harmonaires, Griswold Dancers and the Worthington Strutters. Plan to sing along or listen to some Christmas carols and enjoy some delicious holiday cookies.

Harps for the Holidays – December 15 – 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Jude Mollenhauer, principal harpist with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, will play beautiful holiday music as Griswold Center volunteers are honored for their service. Everyone is welcome to attend the reception, which will include a hot chocolate bar as well as a macaroni-and-cheese bar (complete with bacon, green onions and other toppings) so you can create your own tasty concoction. Top it off with some delicious savory treats and sweets!

Father Christmas Visits the Griswold – December 17 – 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Stephen Hollen grew up in the hills of eastern Kentucky where he honed his southern humor and learned the fine art of storytelling while sitting on the front porch, listening to folks share tall tales. Today he spins his own humorous and sometimes bittersweet stories of cousins, friends and characters to create a familiar glimpse of Americana. You've seen him as Mark Twain and Buffalo Bill Cody, but now you can see him play the role of an Appalachian Father Christmas. The event includes lunch, which will feature apple cider braised chicken, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes from the Griswold kitchen.

As part of the Worthington Parks & Recreation Department, the Griswold Center is a multi-purpose facility dedicated to providing quality programs and services to people 55 years of age or older and their spouses, regardless of age.
