MARKET SHUTTLE — Last Week to Catch a Ride!

Help make the wheels go round on this bus in the future! The trial run for this service ends on August 31! Give it a try and let us know what you think! We’d love to continue this much-needed service — but we can’t do it without you!

Take the easy route to the #1 Market in the USA! Every Saturday in July and August, we’ll be running a Market Shuttle from the 6700 High Street parking lot to the Griswold Center at 777 High Street in Old Worthington. The shuttle is wheelchair accessible, and first pick-up is at 7:45AM.

There is ample parking at 6700, and the Market Shuttle will be making the round trip every 15 minutes - just line up at the sign. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get your fresh market goodies!

Rush Creek Bread, Booth #24, West High Street (next to Old Worthington Inn)

Baker Pete and family grew up in Worthington and live just a few blocks from the market in Rush Creek Village, that’s pretty local.

As always, our breads on offer are Freshly Milled (by us, within hours of mixing the doughs), always 100% Whole Grain (no need for “enrichment” to manufacture shelf stable faux whole wheat flour), always as locally sourced as possible (on our labels we are gf FB disclose the identity of the amazing farms we source from, the majority of which is Ohio grown - not trucked in from industrial mills west of the Mississippi). Sourdough, is a process (even though some treat it as a flavor) - our breads are always Naturally Leavened (no chemicals, commercial yeast, or other leaving assistants or dough conditioners). Always read your labels.

The Compost Exchange, Booth #102 (Dewey’s Parking Lot

Let's Bring Composting to Central Ohio Schools!Composting is the process of recycling organic waste, like food scraps, into nutrient-rich soil. It's a simple yet powerful way to reduce waste, enrich the soil, and combat climate change. By incorporating composting programs in schools, we can educate the next generation about sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Want to get your school involved? Contact us today to learn more about our programs and how we can help your school start composting!

Franklinton Farms, Booth 103, Dewey’s Pizza Plaza

Franklinton Farms has had some recent leadership changes. We are encouraged at the return of Nick Stanich to help guide our organization through this next vital phase.

For those who don’t know, Nick was the ED from 2011 - 2020 and has remained close to the organization and involved in the neighborhood since then. He wrote a letter of return that we’ve posted on our blog, here is an excerpt:

“Franklinton Farms has grown immensely over the past 4.5 years since I stepped away. The organization’s breadth of educational programming and community connections has expanded and flourished vastly beyond the expectations I held while I led the organization’s establishment and early growth.”

Community Table - Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS)

We are pleased to welcome the Community Refugee & Immigration Services (CRIS) to our Community Table in Booth #1 on the Southwest Village Green.

CRIS is an independent non-profit organization that serves the refugee and immigrant populations in Central Ohio. Among other things, CRIS is a refugee resettlement agency. As an affiliate of Church World Service, we have a cooperative agreement with the Department of State to directly receive and place refugees in our community.

The CRIS staff is as diverse as the populations we serve, consisting of over 100 people from around the world who speak more than two dozen languages. CRIS has many funding partners who play an integral role in the work we do and an equally diverse Board of Trustees serves to support and guide this work.

Community Table — Canine Companions

Canine Companions is leading the service dog industry so our clients and their dogs can live with greater independence. We provide service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings. Since our founding in 1975, our dogs and all follow-up services are provided at no cost to our clients.
