The Market is Going Nuts!
The market is a happy place for lovers of nuts and seeds! Team Veggie Spy has searched our 80+ vendors to discover these nutty (and seedy) offerings.
Tulip Café has Turkish pistachios, which have a distinctive shape and taste that is a bit different from the California pistachios we are accustomed to. They also use the pistachios in their amazing baklava and other goodies. And if you just can’t get enough, the Macarons at Dawn Bakes have real pistachios!
If your dietary needs include seeds, head to Yawning Bear for their Bird Seed bread which includes sunflower seeds, oats, flax seed, and pepitas (aka pumpkin seeds). The granola from Pleiades Maple Products also has sesame and sunflower seeds. Sweet Liberty Candy doesn’t just have peanut brittle, they also go much nuttier with cashew, pecan, and macadamia brittles!
Give Love, Gift Local
Market gift certificates make a great gift for any occasion — or just because. Available in $5 and $10 denominations, market gift certificates are accepted by all vendors and they never expire. Treat your favorite “local-phile” and pick up gift certificates (and maybe a tote bag and t-shirt, too!) at the market information booth located just inside the First Watch entrance.
