Join us for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration, featuring musical performances, including youth and adult Capriccio choirs, and keynote remarks from author and activist Reginald Dwayne Betts. A light luncheon will follow the program. The entire event is free and open to the public.
The 2017 Martin Luther King Community Celebration is presented by the Worthington Community Relations Commission, in partnership with the Worthington Libraries, Worthington Schools and Worthington United Methodist Church. As a tribute to Dr. King’s commitment to help those in need, everyone attending the program is asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Worthington Food Pantry.
In addition to speaking at the Martin Luther King Community Celebration, Betts will also share his story at a Meet-the-author reception and Author Talk at 7pm at the McConnell Arts Center as part of the Hear & Now Series presented by the Worthington Libraries
