It's Officially Spring in Worthington

03-Strawberries-June-14-e1309883532987In spite of a few minor setbacks, the weather in Central Ohio has been on a warming trend for a while now. Signs of spring are everywhere, from the buds on the trees, to sunnier days and longer evenings. In Worthington, two events officially signify the arrival of spring: Plant Fest and the return of the outdoor farmers market. Fortunately, they are both upon us. Plant Fest

Sponsored by the Olde Worthington Business Association, Plant Fest returns on May 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Like in years past, Plant Fest is a great time to purchase everything from perennials, annuals and hanging baskets to herbs, vegetables, candles, garden art, jewelry and more. Food and music combine to make it a festive event for the entire family. This year Plant Fest will be held simultaneously with the second week of the outdoor farmers market. Since it's also the day before Mother's Day, plan to make it your shopping destination for Mom. Plant Fest takes place at the south end of the Worthington Village Green on the corner of St. Rt. 23 (High Street) and St. Rt. 161.

Worthington Farmers Market

While many of you have been enjoying the year-round Worthington Farmers Market, there is still a great deal of anticipation surrounding the official opening of the outdoor market. This year the streets of Worthington come alive with activity when the summer market opens on Saturday, May 3. Last year the Worthington Farmers Market took on several new vendors, making it bigger and more diverse than in the past. And this year promises to be even better. Outdoor market hours are Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
