It’s a Tribute to Fair Food this Sunday!
It’s a fair bet (see what we did there?) that we’re all missing our favorite state and county fairs, parades, and markets this summer. It really is the sight, smell, and sound of summer: warm kettle corn, fair rides, fireworks, fried foods of every sort.
Well, guess what?! The Whitney House and many of your favorite Old Worthington merchants are pulling out all the stops to bring you A Tribute to Fair Food this Sunday, August 30 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
You can preorder your Whitney House meals by noon today (Thursday, Aug. 27) or order at the walk-up window, then take them to eat at the outdoor seating throughout the district. Also, DORA is in effect, so grab a cocktail, wine, or beer and take a stroll!
And the whole neighborhood is getting in on the fun! Here are a few highlights you’ll find this Sunday:
Sassafras Bakery is hosting a Pie Baking Contest! Bring your entry to their walk-up window between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, and a trio of celebrity judges will choose a blue ribbon winner, announced at 5. Grand prize is a one-on-one baking session with Sassafras owner A.J. Perry.
The Half Pint will be selling donut burgers loaded with cheddar and bacon jam
Igloo Letterpress is having a sidewalk sale and making Fair Fans!
Highline Coffee will be featuring tasty beverages, including a caramel dark chocolate mocha and a maple latte
The Flaky Baker will be making a caramelized apple coffee cake, s’mores brownies, gluten-free monster cookies, and more
Worthington Jewelers will have a magician and the author of Magic Hat
