'80s Flashback Party with the Reaganomics
One of the best things about this blog is being able to write about the many fun events taking place throughout the Worthington community. No doubt the '80s Flashback Party with the Reaganomics is one more fantastic outing to add to the list. This special event is being sponsored by the Worthington Parks & Recreation Department, and it will take place along with the Summer Concert on the Green Series--except this concert will be held on a Saturday (instead of Sunday). To enjoy this special show, bring your chairs or blanket--even a picnic dinner--and plan to stake your claim on a section of the northwest quadrant of the Village Green on Saturday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m. A Michael Jackson impersonator will begin the show, followed by DJ tunes. Then the Reaganomics will take the stage and play 1980s tribute music from 8 to 9:30 p.m. This family-friendly band was named most popular band in the 614 Magazine poll for the fourth year running. It's also worth noting that the lead singer not only calls Worthington home, but he also works at the Worthington Library.
"We wanted to offer something on a different night that might bring some new people into Worthington to experience the downtown businesses," said Melissa Hindman, marketing and community outreach supervisor with the Worthington Parks & Recreation Department. "We are hoping people will visit the (area) restaurants before and after the concert."
Hindman said plans are already underway to add more Saturday concerts in 2014. "We're taking ideas for next year," she added. "If you have a band you love, email me at MHindman@ci.worthington.oh.us."
